Sardi’s Pollo A La Brasa is continuing its expansion across Maryland with the opening of its first Annapolis restaurant.
The Peruvian chicken restaurant announced that its new location at 153 Defense Hwy will open Saturday, October 3. “Annapolis… we are ready for you!” Sardi’s wrote in announcing the opening. “Thank you for being so patient with us while we built out our new home.”
Sardi’s was founded in 2008 by Montgomery County cousins Phil E. Sardelis and Phil G. Sardelis. Despite their Greek heritage, the cousins shared a passion for Peruvian cuisine and developed a restaurant centered around traditional pollo a la brasa and other freshly prepared dishes.
The first Sardi’s opened in Beltsville in 2008. The company has since grown into a regional chain with locations throughout Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania, including several in Montgomery County.
The Annapolis opening comes as Sardi’s recently received recognition from Washingtonian, which included the restaurant on its list of “The Best Cheap Eats Around the DC Area.” The list featured 60 restaurants where diners can get a satisfying meal for less than $25 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip.
Washingtonian highlighted Sardi’s charbroiled Peruvian chicken along with sides including fried Brussels sprouts, fried yuca, and rice and beans.
