Naz’s Halal Food is coming soon to Plaza Del Mercado in Silver Spring. The upcoming restaurant will be located at 2273 Bel Pre Rd., next to CVS. An opening timeframe is not yet available.
Naz’s Halal Food is a fast-growing fast-casual chain known for New York City-style halal cart food. The concept was founded in 2009 by cousins Naz and Kareem, who were both New York City public school teachers.
The menu centers around customizable rice platters featuring basmati rice with options including chicken, lamb gyro, falafel, fried fish and combinations, served with pita, salad and the chain’s signature sauces.
Additional offerings include gyros and wraps, burgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and falafel. Dessert options include baklava, fried Oreos and banana pudding.
Naz’s is also known for its white, hot and green sauces, with its creamy white sauce serving as a signature addition to its platters and sandwiches. The chain has expanded significantly since its beginnings in New York and already operates several locations in Montgomery County.
