Viral French Fries Sold Nationwide Are Made in Montgomery County

Jesse & Ben’s, a fast-growing frozen French fry brand that has gone viral on social media and landed on shelves at major retailers across the country, is based right here in Montgomery County.

The company operates from 14672 Southlawn Lane in Rockville, where it is listed as a manufacturing business by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce and Rockville Economic Development. The brand has experienced explosive growth since launching its frozen fries in 2024.

Jesse & Ben’s was founded by longtime friends Jesse Konig and Ben Johnson, who originally entered the food business after college. The pair moved to the D.C. area in 2014 and launched a food truck before eventually developing Swizzler, a burger concept that grew from food trucks and farmers markets into a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

The idea for Jesse & Ben’s developed during the pandemic. While trying to make their restaurant operation more efficient, Konig and Johnson began producing their own frozen fries. After walking through grocery store freezer aisles and seeing many of the same frozen fry brands they remembered from childhood, they saw an opportunity to create their own retail product.

Jesse & Ben’s officially launched on retail shelves in June 2024 with restaurant-style frozen fries made without seed oils. Its original varieties included Classic Sea Salt and Rosemary Garlic fries made with avocado oil, along with Tallow & Sea Salt fries made with grass-fed beef tallow. The fries use russet potatoes and relatively simple ingredient lists.

The products quickly gained attention online. According to Refrigerated & Frozen Foods, organic content featuring Jesse & Ben’s has generated millions of views across Instagram and TikTok, with customers reportedly traveling significant distances to find the fries in stores.

That online attention has translated into major retail growth. By May 2026, Jesse & Ben’s products were available in more than 3,500 stores nationwide, including Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Target, Fresh Thyme, MOM’s Organic Market and independent retailers. The company said it grew more than 1,100% in 2025 and was on track for another 300% to 400% growth in 2026.

The Rockville operation has also had to scale quickly. In 2025, Axios reported that Jesse & Ben’s was running production 24 hours a day to keep up with demand.  Earlier this year, Jesse & Ben’s announced a $10 million Series A funding round led by Greycroft. The company said the investment would be used to expand its supply chain, continue growing its retail presence and build out its team. The brand has also expanded beyond its original lineup with products including Sweet Potato Tallow Fries and Crinkle Cut Beef Tallow Fries.
