Big Greek Cafe will celebrate the grand opening of its newest restaurant at 5221 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick’s Westview Promenade on Friday, October 16, with free food, giveaways and music.
The grand opening celebration will run from 11am-2pm and will feature free gyros, limited to one per person. The first 30 guests will also receive a free T-shirt, and the event will include raffle prizes and music.
The Frederick restaurant officially opened on August 31 in the former Noodles & Company space. It is Big Greek Cafe’s second Frederick County location, joining its Urbana restaurant in Village Square at Urbana, which opened in 2022. The Frederick location is open daily from 11am-9pm.
Big Greek Cafe was founded in Montgomery County in 2009 by twin brothers Nikos and Simos Marmaras in honor of their late mother, Koralia Marmaras, whose dream was to open a restaurant serving the comforting Greek dishes she prepared for family and friends.
The family’s restaurant roots span generations. Their father, Vassilios Marmaras, immigrated from the Greek island of Andros and has worked in the restaurant industry since 1968.
