A Washington, D.C., woman has been sentenced to 140 months (11 years and eight months) in federal prison for her role as a co-leader of a violent robbery crew that targeted more than a dozen pharmacies and cellphone stores across the region, including a T-Mobile store next to Westfield Wheaton Mall in Montgomery County, according to FOX 5.
Ashley Gause, 33, also known as “Cray,” was convicted by a federal jury in October 2025 of conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and eight counts of robbery affecting interstate commerce.
According to federal prosecutors, Gause and her co-conspirators carried out robberies between May 2020 and May 2021, targeting businesses across Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and New Jersey for prescription drugs and cellphones that could be resold in Washington, D.C. Many of the robberies involved firearms being pointed at employees.
Prosecutors said the crew obtained approximately $300,000 in stolen proceeds and prescription drugs during the crime spree.
In addition to her prison sentence, Gause was ordered to serve three years of supervised release. Prosecutors had requested a sentence of 235 months. Several other members of the robbery crew have received federal prison sentences, while others are awaiting trial.
The investigation involved the FBI, Montgomery County Police Department, and several other law enforcement agencies across the region.
