46-year-old Pasadena, MD woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $238,000 from a local youth athletic organization and failing to report the stolen money on her Maryland income tax return.
According to Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown, Kelley Ann Haley, the former treasurer of the Pasadena Buccaneers Athletic Club in Anne Arundel County, stole $238,452 from the organization between 2019 and 2024.
Haley failed to report the stolen funds as income, resulting in $4,625.69 in unpaid state income taxes.
On October 30, Haley pleaded guilty in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court to willfully filing a false Maryland income tax return and felony theft scheme over $100,000.
The tax fraud investigation was conducted by the Maryland Office of the Comptroller, while the Anne Arundel County Police Department investigated the theft.
Haley is scheduled to be sentenced in both cases on December 17, 2026. The unpaid taxes remain due to the state.
