Lee’s Kitchen, a longtime restaurant in Silver Spring, has been sold and will transition to new ownership in November after nearly 50 years of serving the community.
Located at 14448 Layhill Road, the restaurant will remain open under the Lee’s Kitchen name. The current owners announced that a new owner and their family will take over beginning November 16, 2026. “Lee’s Kitchen has been serving our community for nearly 50 years. Now it’s time for our next chapter,” the family shared in a farewell message.
The restaurant offers an extensive menu of Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes, including General Tso’s chicken, orange beef, Peking duck, fried rice, lo mein, seafood specialties, vegetarian options and combination platters. The menu also includes dishes such as pad Thai, Singapore rice noodles and several curry selections.
The family reflected on generations of relatives who grew up working at the restaurant, celebrating milestones alongside longtime customers. They also thanked the community for supporting the business through its expansion into a dine-in restaurant and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As one of our nieces said, it’s an end of an era,” the family wrote. “Thank you for supporting our small business in all its phases and letting us be a part of your family.”Although ownership is changing, Lee’s Kitchen will continue operating at its longtime Layhill Road location under the same name.
