Cesco Osteria to Close Permanently on January 29

Acclaimed Chef Francesco Ricchi has announced  his retirement after over 30 years in the Washington, DC area. His restaurant, Cesco Osteria at 7401 Woodmont Ave in Bethesda, will close permanently on January 29th.
Per the press release:
Arriving from Florence, Italy in 1988, Chef Ricchi had a new and exiting vision for Italian cuisine. Diners at his restaurants have been dazzled with his simple but tasty homemade pastas, delectable grilled meats, seafood and desserts made from family recipes from the original restaurant that still stands today on the outskirts of Florence.

He has served royalty, politicians and local food lovers with equal pride and humility. A fellow chef describes Chef Ricchi as “…the most humble and sincere man you could ever meet who really knows his way in the kitchen.” Throughout the years, he has donated his time to many causes including DC Central Kitchen, So Others Might Eat (SOME), Special Olympics and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Well liked by peers and customers alike, Chef Ricchi has createda warm and inviting place for those who want a simple meal or grand dining experience.

honors as:
