GNC will be opening a new location at Federal Plaza in Rockville, according to signage placed in the window next to Crumbl cookies at 12266 Rockville Pike, Suite L.
GNC filed for Chapter 11/bankruptcy in June 2020. The vitamin and dietary supplement company that has been around since the 40s, also announced that it would close 20% of its over 5,000 locations at the time.
Per Bloomberg, GNC Holdings Inc. won approval of its bankruptcy reorganization plan that centered on a $770 million sale to its largest shareholder, Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co. in late 2020, keeping open at least 1,400 of its nutrition supplement stores and saving thousands of jobs.
Any new store openings will be strategic and in high-volume locations like Federal Realty’s Federal Plaza in Rockville. An opening date has not yet been provided.
