Things To Do in Montgomery Parks This Weekend (7/22-7/24)

Montgomery Parks summer events are coming in hot! You can get involved in Latino Conservation Week and check out these other events around Montgomery Parks Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24.

Celebrate

Latino Conservation Week is wrapping up, but there are still free, fun events for you to attend! Check out Salsa in the Park(opens in a new tab) happening Thursday, July 21, from 5 to 8 pm at Waring Station Local Park. Also, come to our Latino Conservation Week Fiesta(opens in a new tab), on Saturday, July 23, from 5 to 10 pm at Wheaton Regional Park! We’re showing the film “Encanto” in English with Spanish subtitles. Free transportation from Wheaton and Glenmont Metro stations.

 

Tours

Take a free guided tour(opens in a new tab) of the historic log cabin at Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park on Saturday, July 23, from 12 to 4 pm, and learn about the African American community that worked there from emancipation through the twentieth century.

 


Entertainment

Immerse yourself in a presentation of the Shakespeare tragedy “Macbeth,” presented by Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks(opens in a new tab)! The show is Friday, July 22, 7:15 pm, at Meadowside Nature Center. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Free!

 

Birding

 Do you want to see cool native birds? Come out to Morning Tweets and Tea(opens in a new tab) at Locust Grove Nature Center on Saturday, July 23, at 8 am! You will learn all about beginner birding techniques. This program is for individuals at least eighteen years of age.

 

Yoga

Our yoga classes are a great way to relax your body and mind this summer! Come out to Brookside Gardens for a peaceful yoga session(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, July 23, 9:30 am. This event is intended for those eighteen and up. Bring your own mat.
