Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has reached an agreement with the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) to provide a $2,750 financial incentive to special education teachers who are hired for the 2022-2023 school year.
“We are happy to be able to offer this incentive to help fill these critical positions,” said Superintendent Monifa B. McKnight. “We are working diligently to fill every position and be 100 percent staffed come the first day of school, especially for our most vulnerable students in special education.”

MCPS continues in its effort to recruit and hire for the 2022-2023 school year.
- The MCPS Office of Human Resources and Development hosts an information and recruitment table daily at their offices in Rockville at 45 W. Gude Drive from 7:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
- MCPS Virtual Information Session is scheduled for Aug. 10 and is hosted by the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Candidates can go online, meet the MCPS recruitment team, learn more about open positions and get help with the application process. Interested individuals are asked to pre-register at this link.
- MCPS recruiters will also be at the MCPS Agricultural Fair from Aug. 12 through Aug. 20 and at the MCPS Back-to-School Fair on Aug. 27, Westfield Wheaton Mall, from 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m.
