Metro Service Information for Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5

Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess will operate on a Sunday schedule for customers traveling on the Labor Day holiday, Monday, Sept. 5, 2022. In observance of the holiday, customers will benefit from off-peak fares and parking will be free all day.  The holiday also marks the last day of closures at five Orange Line stations – New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Ave – for platform reconstruction and station improvements. The stations will reopen on Tuesday, September 6, capping off a four-year effort to renovate and modernize 20 outdoor stations.

On Monday, September 5, 2022, service will operate as follows:

Metrorail

Hours: 7 a.m. until midnight.

Service: Red Line every 10 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont
Blue LineSilver Line every 20 minutes between Largo and Franconia-Springfield/Wiehle-Reston East
Orange Line every 20 minutes between Vienna and Stadium-Armory
Yellow LineGreen Line every 15 minutes between Greenbelt and Huntington/Branch Ave

Stations: All stations open except New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Ave. Free shuttle buses will be provided.

Fares: Weekday off-peak fares all day.

Customers should also be aware of scheduled daytime track maintenance on the Green Line and on the Red Line after 10 p.m. View wmata.com/trackwork for additional details.

Parking: Free at all Metro-operated lots and garages.

Metrobus

Hours: Varies by route, see timetables for schedule information.

Service: Buses will operate using the Sunday schedule for each route. Buses that do not normally run on Sundays will not run on the holiday.

MetroAccess

Hours: MetroAccess paratransit service for customers with disabilities will operate regular service.
