Get your groove on at our last installment of Salsa in the Park(opens in a new tab). as we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month Thursday, September 15, 5 to 8 pm, at Long Branch-Arliss Neighborhood Park(opens in a new tab)! Follow instructors for dance lessons, listen to live music, and eat fantastic food and beverage. Free admission!
Dogs
No, that is not a typo! Get ready for our fall Yappy Hour(opens in a new tab) Thursday, September 15, 6 to 8 pm, at Elm Street Urban Park(opens in a new tab). Bring your dog to play with other pups at the pop-up dog park. Of course, there will be alcohol vendors for the adults twenty-one and older, as well as vendors selling food and non-alcoholic beverages. Yappy Hour is a partnership with Bethesda Urban Partnership.
Celebration
Celebrate PARK(ing) Day(opens in a new tab) with Montgomery Parks and other county agencies and organizations at our Wheaton Headquarters, 2425 Reedie Drive, in Wheaton. Wheaton PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September 16, 12 pm to 6 pm, is a fun repurposing of parking spaces to draw attention to safer, greener, more equitable streets. You can hang out and enjoy music, free Italian ice, lawn games, and an LED light bulb exchange.
Native Plants
Shop a beautiful selection of native plants at Locust Grove Nature Center’s Native Plant Sale(opens in a new tab) Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, from 10 am to 2 pm. Pick from a unique selection of plants and help support the nature center’s education programs.
Concert
Enjoy amazing opera(opens in a new tab) outdoors Sunday, September 18, 4:30 pm to 7 pm, at Warner Circle Local Park(opens in a new tab)! A group of singers will give a fantastic hour–and–a–half performance that you, your friends, and your family will surely love. Montgomery Parks is a proud sponsor of this event.
