Things to Do in Montgomery Parks September 30 – October 2

Skating, campfires, and concerts! Here are six activities happening around Montgomery Parks Friday, September 30, to Sunday, October 2.

Nature

Meadowside Nature Center has fall-themed outdoor activities during Sensory Friendly Days(opens in a new tab) on Friday, September 30, 10 am, for visitors of all ages with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. Registration required.

Hone your camping skills during Campfire 101.Learn log stacking, lighting techniques, and fire safety during this program at Brookside Nature Center on Saturday, October 1, 10 am. Bring a snack to roast and toast over your roaring fire.

Autumn

The Friends of Agricultural History Farm Park invite you to Fall on the Farm(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, October 1, 11 am to 4 pm. Visit the farm animals. Take a hayride. Watch blacksmith, woodworking, and sawmill demonstrations. And, enjoy activities, live music, and more! Free admission and parking

Skating

Kids four to eight can dress up as their favorite movie or storybook character for Fairy Tale Skate(opens in a new tab)on Friday, September 30, 2:15 pm, at Cabin John Ice Rink. Program includes a group lesson, practice time, and crafts.

Concert

Clarence Ward III and his band Dat Feel Good perform at Cabin John Regional Park Amphitheater during Sunday Serenade(opens in a new tab) on Sunday, October 2, 10 am to 11:30 am. Bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the free jazz concert. Food truck onsite for coffee and breakfast.

Finally, discover Montgomery County classrooms of the past during a free tour of the one-room historic Kingsley Schoolhouse(opens in a new tab) on Sunday, October 2, 1 pm to 4 pm, at Little Bennett Regional Park.
