Metro Service Information for Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11

Per WMATA: In observance of Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, Metro will operate normal weekday service with scheduled track work and maintenance on the Red and Green lines. Metrobus will operate on a Saturday Supplemental schedule and MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled.

Metrorail

Hours: 5 a.m. until 1 a.m.

Service: Normal weekday service frequencies to most stations.

Red Line Trains every 10 minutes between Shady Grove and Fort Totten only.
Blue Line & Blue Line + Orange LineSilver Line Trains every 15 minutes.
Green Line Trains every 8-16 minutes.
Yellow Line No train service. Use Blue Plus or Green Line instead.


Fares:
Off-peak fares will be in effect all-day and parking will be free at all Metro-owned parking garages and surface lots.

Customers are advised of scheduled maintenance on the Red Line closing five stations – Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont – due to switch replacement. Free shuttle buses provided. Additional track work is also scheduled on the Green Line. View the weekday track work advisory for additional details.

Metrobus

Hours: Service varies by route. Check timetables for schedule information.

Service: Buses will operate on a Saturday Supplemental schedule. All buses that normally run on Saturday will operate in addition to selected routes. Check timetables or use Metro’s trip planner for schedules to travel on the holiday.

MetroAccess

MetroAccess paratransit service will operate regular service. On the holiday, scheduled recurring “subscription trips” are automatically canceled. Customers who wish to travel on Friday should make a separateor by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535). reservation online
