Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy (former home of Peary High School) at 13300 Arctic Ave in Rockville on Tuesday, May 9 around 10pm. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was contained to the bed of a Ford F250 and was likely caused by “improperly disposed of cooking materials or logs/ash from camp fire placed into bags/boxes that were put in truck bed.” Damage is estimated to be ~$10K and there were no injuries reported.
