UPDATE: Pitango opens today, 5/29, from 4pm-8pm
Back in December we broke the news of Pitango, a gelato and coffee spot, coming to Bethesda– taking over the location that was home to Tapa Bar and Blackfinn in the past (4901 Fairmont Ave).
We stopped by a couple nights ago to check on the progress and saw a completed dining area for the cafe that was originally supposed to open in the spring of 2020.
Pitango blends all flavors on the farm, but churns every batch of gelato and sorbet on location in each of their shops to ensure peak freshness.
It looks like they’ll be opening very shortly.
