MCPS Welcomes New Spanish Language Communications Specialist, Edith Lozada

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is delighted to introduce Ms. Edith Lozada as the newly appointed Spanish Communications Specialist and Spanish Language Public Information Officer within the MCPS Department of Communications.

With a wealth of experience in the field of communication, Ms. Lozada brings with her an impressive track record as an Emmy Award-winning Bilingual Media Producer, driven by a passion for immersive storytelling and community-centered programming. Her academic journey includes acquiring a Bachelor’s in Mass Media Communication from the University of Puerto Rico.

Ms. Lozada began her career as an intern at Univision Puerto Rico, where her exceptional talent and dedication propelled her into the role of a News Producer. Subsequently, she took on a pivotal role at Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles, where her proficiency shone brightly for a span of 4 years. Notably, her efforts garnered recognition in the form of an Emmy for Best Morning Newscast, including an Award from the LA Press Club for Best Community Show.

Continuing in her career, Ms. Lozada assumed the role of Executive Producer at Telemundo 44 in Washington, DC. Over the course of her tenure, her abilities garnered an impressive tally of 17 National Capital Chesapeake Bay Regional Emmy Awards, a testament to her exceptional storytelling abilities and a commitment to crafting programming that resonates well with a Hispanic audience.

As a Montgomery County Public Schools team member, Ms. Lozada will cultivate robust community engagement by furnishing essential information to parents, guardians, students, and families.
