A petition was started on Thursday to save the McDonald’s restaurant located at 11301 Seven Locks Rd in the Cabin John Village shopping center in Potomac, Maryland.
Since Thursday evening, The MoCoShow has received over 50 messages from readers expressing their support for the fast food restaurant, with the petition referring to it as a Residents referred to as “a cherished part of the Potomac, MD community.” One resident, shared with us a family photo from when she was a child alongside a photo of her with her children at the same McDonald’s, which has become a monthly tradition for her family.
We have been told that negotiations between the local franchisee and EDENS have broken down and that the restaurant expects to close the week of Christmas. Per the petition, “This establishment isn’t just a fast-food restaurant; it serves as a gathering place for kids, sports teams, high schoolers and the elderly alike. It is always bustling with activity and has become an integral part of our daily lives.” Calls to the restaurant have gone unanswered so far and we have left a message for EDENS. We will provide any updates as soon as we receive them.
In under 12 hours the petition has garnered nearly 800 signatures. It can be viewed here in full.
