Buc-ee’s Could Move Closer to DMV With New Proposal

Back in June we let you know of Buc-ee’s first planned Virginia location in New Kent County with plans for an additional Virginia location in the Richmond area announced the following month. Now, a proposal to bring a third Buc-ee’s to Virginia would bring the “Walmart of gas stations” even closer to the DMV.

According to a report by Potomac Local, Stafford County officials are working on a proposal to bring a “new 74,000-square-foot Buc-ee’s convenience store, complete with 120 gas pumps, to open in the Embrey Mill neighborhood.” Essentially, this is an invitation by Stafford County for Buc-ee’s to open a location in the county. With its current plans to bring two locations a bit further south, it would make sense for the company to strongly consider a proposal that would bring it closer to the DC Metropolitan area.

According to the company, Buc-ee’s Travel Centers are family-focused, featuring a wide range of freshly prepared foods including home-crafted barbeque, custom made sandwiches, fresh salads and fruits, baked goods, and sweets as well as a unique collection of gifts, housewares, and clothing. Buc-ee’s is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and claims to provide guests with the cleanest restrooms and friendliest staff to be found anywhere. Buc-ee’s is not a truck stop; 18 wheelers are not allowed on the property.
