
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 3300blk of Clay St in Wheaton-Glenmont on Sunday, November 26 for the report of a fire.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived to the single-family house around 7pm and located a fire in the basement. All occupants made it out of the home safely after an occupant upstairs was alerted by an activated smoke alarm. Damage is estimated to be approximately $40,000 and there were no injuries reported. Four adults have been displaced. The cause/origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
