Two Teens Arrested for Rockville Armed Carjacking

Per MCPD: “18-year-old Samuel Fikru, of Silver Spring, and a 16-year-old have been arrested following an armed carjacking and armed robbery in Rockville.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Rockville City Police officers responded to the area of Leonard Ct., for the report of an armed carjacking.

The investigation by detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division has revealed that three unknown suspects approached the victim while she was parking her 2017 Honda Pilot. Two suspects approached the driver side door, one suspect displayed a handgun, another displayed a knife, and a third suspect approached the passenger door. The suspects demanded that the victim take them to the bank. The victim ran away, and the suspects drove away in the Honda.

Through the course of the investigation, Fikru and the 16-year-old were developed as suspects and arrest warrants were obtained.

Fikru was served the warrant at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held on unrelated charges.

The 16-year-old, who is being charged as an adult, was served the warrant after being arrested for a strong-arm robbery he committed on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. He is being held without bond.

Detectives continue to search for the third suspect.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this crime or this suspect to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers may remain anonymous.”
