The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for parts of the area, including half of Loudoun County and all of Frederick County, for Saturday, January 6th.
Nothing has been issued for Montgomery County, DC, Fairfax County, or Prince George’s county as of Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm, though it’s possible an advisory can be issued in the near future.
Per the NWS, for the areas of the Winter Storm Watch: “The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening for a heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations in excess of five inches, and ice accumulations in excess of one-quarter of an inch are possible. Travel could be very difficult.”
