MCPS has sent an update at 10:24am regarding operations for Tuesday, January 9th. The full update can be seen below:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Daycare programs may operate as scheduled, parents are encouraged to check with their program managers.
MCPS Schools are CODE BLUE for Tuesday, Jan. 9., due to dangerous weather conditions, including high winds and significant rainfall which may cause widespread flooding and power outages.
All schools will dismiss 2.5 hours early and administrative offices will remain open. 10-month staff released after all students, 11- and 12-month staff remain to complete their scheduled workday. School and community activities for the afternoon and evening are canceled.
- Schools will dismiss 2.5 hours earlier from their regular schedule, including full-day kindergarten and full-day Pre-K.
- Students in AM Head Start, AM PEP, and AM Pre-K will be dismissed at their regular time, 10:50 am
- PM Head Start, PM PEP, and PM Pre-K classes are canceled.
- Schools will operate with their early release bell schedules, including lunch.
- Field trips are canceled.
