Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has announced: CODE RED – SCHOOL SYSTEM CLOSED for Saturday, Jan. 20.
Per MCPS: Due to ongoing snow and ice removal, all school buildings and offices are closed for Saturday, Jan. 20. All MCPS-sponsored events including athletic, academic programming, field trips and community events are canceled.
Montgomery County has issued a “Cold Emergency Alert” active through 9:00 AM on Monday. The advisory cautions that “cold temperatures and wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin within 30 minutes and/or hypothermia.” For Employees: This is a non-emergency (weekend) Code Red. Please consult with your supervisor for reporting status.
