Wegmans upcoming location in Rockville (Rockville Pike and Halpine Rd.) is coming together, with the “shell” of the grocery store expected to be turned over to Wegmans this spring. Construction is then expected to begin on the interior with a 2025 opening timeframe for the grocery store.
Work started on the green roof of The Milton apartment building last month when soil was laid for future planting. Curb installation is occurring along Halpine Road, so the sidewalk covering has been taken down and protective fencing put in its place. Because it remains a work area, all foot traffic is being directed to the south side of Halpine Road.
Crews are busy inside the apartments. As of last month, they have started installing kitchen cabinetry, countertops, and bathroom floor and shower tiles. Work continues floor by floor to prepare the apartments for residents to move in.
The Milton at Twinbrook Quarter anticipates that residential units will be available for occupancy starting in the late Summer and early Fall 2024. The Milton will feature 450 “high-end apartment homes.”
