
Update: Police has stated “Watkins Mill High School is no longer on lockdown. The report was determined to be unfounded.” However, the school continued the lockdown following that communication.. An email went out to staff at 12:05 stating the school will move to a shelter-in-place with a closed lunch, and the announcement was made to the school at 12:19pm.
Original report, Per Montgomery County Police: Watkins Mill High School is on lockdown for the report of a person believed to have a firearm. More information will be released when it’s available.
SCHOOL LOCKDOWN: Watkins Mill HS (@MCPS, MD). ~11AM Wednesday, school locked down as a precaution after report of firearm in the building. Police working with school admin to confirm if there is any actual weapon in the building. All students, staff, and visitors are safe.
