Defendant Faces Life in Prison for Raping 70-Year-Old Woman at Hotel

A Rockville man has been found guilty of raping a woman at the Hilton Garden Inn on Shady Grove Rd back in May, 2022.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable Bibi Berry, a jury found defendant, Arash Khosh, 46, of Rockville, guilty on charges of first-degree rape, home invasion, and second-degree assault. The jury returned its verdict Thursday evening, February 15, 2024.

Khosh faces the potential of life in prison when he is sentenced on April 29, 2024.

This stems from an incident on May 15, 2022, at the Hilton Garden Inn located in the 14000 block of Shady Grove Road in Rockville. Khosh forced his way into the hotel room of a 70-year-old victim and sexually assaulted her. The victim was unknown to Khosh. Her husband was on the first floor of the hotel at the time having coffee waiting for the victim to meet him for breakfast.

Assistant State’s Attorneys Mary Herdman and Donna Fenton prosecuted this case.

“We thank the victim for her courage to testify before the court. This defendant attacked a vulnerable woman in our community and the victim’s brave actions will help to prevent him from targeting anyone else,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
