Wootton High School’s Acappella group, The Acatonics, have done it again. Just a week after winning first place overall, along with best soloist and vocal percussionist, at SingStrong New York, The Acatonics won first place in the prestigious International Competition of High School Acappella (ICHSA) Quarter Final Competition on Saturday Feb. 10th.
This is their fourth time winning this Quarter Final in the past five years and along with first place, won “Best Vocal Percussionist” (Shravan Kannepalli, Senior) and “Best Soloist” (Ashley Chan, Senior).
We are told this was a hard fought victory against many impressive groups from Maryland (and one from Pittsburgh). They will be heading to ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Semi-Finals on March 23rd in Allendale, NJ where they will face even tougher competition in hopes to make it to Finals in NYC.
