
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire at the Montgomery County Shady Grove Transfer Station (16101 Frederick Rd) on Tuesday, February 20th.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, approximately 50 firefighters responded to the trash/debris fire that was located on the tipping room floor. The bulk of the fire has been knocked down and there are no reported injuries.
Piringer tweeted, “Update – Transfer Station, large trash fire on tipping room floor, bulk of fire has been knocked down, checking for hotspots, continuing to flow water, bring in heavy equipment to move trash around, no inj reported, ventilation continues to be initiated, ~50 @mcfrs FFs on scene”
