Mary Trammell has been the longtime owner of the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2 University Blvd W in Four Corners (Silver Spring). She is retiring and preparing to move out of state, but Montgomery County Police officers wanted to honor her before she left.

On Monday afternoon, a group of officers honored her with a Certificate of Appreciation, signed by Silver Spring Commander Capt. David McBain. “She has always welcomed the officers and treated them like family.” an officer told us. In response to her recognition today, Mary said, “What I give is nothing compared to what you all do out there.”

“We don’t know who the new owner will be, but hopefully they are just as welcoming.” one officer said. “Her 7-Eleven is one of the cleanest and well-stocked in the district and she has been very generous to us- offering us coffee whenever we come in. She’s a very hard worker coming in everyday, working morning til late at night.”

A community member who did not wish to be named chimed in to let us know that the 7-Eleven is his favorite in the area. “One, I always feel safe when I’m there and two, it’s clean and she’s one of the nicest people.”
