
A fallen tree has closed MacArthur Blvd. closed between Picasso Ln. and Belfast Rd. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and significant delays are expected. The tree fell earlier in the day on Sunday.
According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the large tree fell across the road onto a fire hydrant. The water is out in the area along MacArthur Blvd. with wires down in the area.
Crews are removing the tree, but delays remain into Sunday night due to the road closure.
Update – MacArthur Boulevard between Fawesett Rd or better yet, Falls Road and Picasso Lane or Old Anglers Inn, large tree down, wires down (power likely has been isolated, however, fire hydrate damaged by fallen tree, water out in area along MacArthur Blvd pic.twitter.com/9nhwF6CImf
