In February we let you know that Mon Ami Gabi Bethesda is set to undergo an extensive remodel this spring that will temporarily close the restaurant that has been a part of the community since 2002. Earlier this month, a $1.2 million permit was issued for the job.

Streetsense Architecture, a DC-based company, will be doing the renovations for the restaurant Located at 7239 Woodmont Ave, in the heart of Bethesda Row. Mon Ami Gabi is led by Executive Chef Andrew Fleischauer. The restaurant serves French bistro classics alongside fresh takes on old school favorites.

The remodel will begin this spring, but an exact date is not yet available. The reopening date is not yet available, but is expected to occur prior to the end of the year.

The company filed a notice of the layoffs under the federal Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which requires some employers to give advance notice of business closures and mass layoffs. All employees have been given the option to temporarily relocate to other Lettuce Entertain You restaurants and will be offered the chance to return to Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda upon its reopening.
