On Saturday, May 4 from 11 am to 3 pm, at Sligo Creek Open Parkway situated between Dennis Avenue and University Boulevard, Montgomery Parks will be hosting Sligo Creek Fest.

This event will highlight the well-loved Open Parkways Program that was initiated in 2020 to provide additional outdoor and recreational spaces for the community. Sligo Creek Parkway will be transformed into a street festival for residents of all ages to enjoy.

Attendees can expect to see live music, street performers, and kids’ entertainers as they explore the parkway. Hands-on activities will be provided by a variety of community groups and organizations as well as different departments in Montgomery Parks. Local food vendors will be lined up on the parkway to serve savory snacks and sweet treats for purchase. For the adults ages 21 and up, cool down with a cold beer from a local brewery tent on-site.

“We encourage attendees to enjoy the open parkway by hiking to the event along one of our amazing trails, biking from your neighborhood, or even walking to the event with your friends and family.

More information about this event will be made available in the coming weeks. Make sure to check the event page for more details.” Courtesy Montgomery Parks
