
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a call for a fire at Kindley Assisted Living at Asbury (333 Russell Av, Gaithersburg) at approximately 11pm on Tuesday night.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, there was a fire in a bedroom of the six-story building caused by an electric blanket. The mattress fire was extinguished by the residential sprinkler system.
Five residents have been displaced by the fire and one was evaluated for smoke inhalation, but refused transport to a hospital. MCFRS EMIHS for transport one adult to the hospital with an injury that was not directly related to the fire.
