Tractor-Trailer Fully Engulfed in Flames Shuts Down I-270 S Wednesday Morning

Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle fire and found a tractor-trailer fully engulfed when they arrived at the scene of I-270 South past Exit 26 MD 80.

The Maryland State Highway Administration put out an alert at 6:22am stating the following, “Frederick County; Crash; I-270 South Past Exit 26 MD 80; all lanes closed Southbound, left lane closed Northbound.”

The driver was able to escape uninjured. As of 7:32am, all southbound lanes remained closed. As of 9am, one lane has opened.
