Read to a Dog The Second and Third Saturday of Every Month at Kensington Park Library

Article by Ben Shlesinger
Learning to read can be ruff, so the Kensington Park Library has a program to help little ones out. The second and third Saturday of every month, from 10:30-11:30 your kid can read to a certified therapy dog.

The event is always first come first serve, so you will want to get there on the early side because it does fill up quickly. Kids can bring their own book or borrow any from the library. The dogs do change from week to week so you never know which one you’ll get.

Bring your own book or choose one from our collection. For elementary school age children. First come, first served basis. Sponsored by Pets on Wheels. Library Program Attendance (both virtual and in the branch) is limited to participants within the suggested age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended for children must have an accompanying child.

Does your library have a read to a dog program or another cool thing to do? If so, comment and let us know.
