Overturned Vehicle Causes Delays on I-270 Thursday Morning

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision that led to an overturned vehicle on southbound I-270 between Rt. 118 and Middlebrook Rd at approximately 5:20am Thursday morning.

According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the collision caused the vehicle to flip over off of the roadway and into the woods. At least one patient was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly before 6am, the Montgomery County Police Department put out a notification regarding the collision, “traffic collision has two lanes of southbound I-270 closed between Germantown Road and Middlebrook Road. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect significant delays.”

Shortly after 6:30am, MATOC stated the “incident has cleared, and all travel lanes are reopened. Delays remain, beginning before MD-121.” Delays continue with all lanes now open.
