Shuga x Ice, described as “a unique, African-inspired ice cream company” is coming soon to Solaire Social– a food hall opening soon on the ground floor of the Solaire 8200 apartments at 8200 Dixon Ave in Silver Spring.

The ice shop has been brought to life by the passion and vision of its founder, Ndidiamaka Agu. After experiencing a turning point in her life, Ndidi decided to make her dream of creating an ice cream business a reality.

Their ice cream is described as “a celebration of the rich, diverse flavors of Africa, bringing a unique dessert experience to the Solaire Social Food Hall.” Some of the flavors featured on ShugaxIce’s instagram account include Gbas Gbos (milk chocolate ice cream with a kick of African peppers), Chin Chin + Cream (coconut cream frozen dessert with chin chin cookie pieces), Tea + Bread (tea flavored ice cream with buttered agege bread pieces), and more.

Solaire is scheduled to have a soft opening for residents in May with an opening to the public planned for early June.
