A nearly 12,000 SF home will soon be up for sale in Bethesda for $23.5 million. The home will be listed by TTR Sotheby’s Daniel Heider, less than four years after it was purchased by investor and tech entrepreneur, Greg Burgess, for $15 million (per the Wall Street Journal). That sale set the record for most expensive home sale in Bethesda- a record that would be shattered if it sold anywhere near the asking price.

Since the purchase nearly four years ago, the home underwent a three-year renovation. Washingtonian reports that the sale almost four years ago “set the record for the most expensive Bethesda home sale in recent history when tech entrepreneur and property investor Greg Burgess bought it for $15 million in September 2020. (It may be the most expensive ever–MLS records only go back to 1990.) If it hits its asking price, it will break that record again and become the biggest home sale in the state.”

The home, located at 6699 Macarthur Blvd overlooking the Potomac River, was built in 2013 and has 6 bedroooms and 11 bathrooms (8 are full bathrooms). It has a pool, hot tub, and English garden, and sits on nearly 2 acres. Six fireplaces can be found inside the home, along with a library, recreation room, wine cellar, fitness center, and more.

It will be competing with the former Potomac home of Daniel and Tanya Snyder, which was recently relisted by the American Cancer Society a couple months after the Snyders donated the property. The property has been listed by Cara Pearlman of COMPASS for $34.9 million- the price it was most recently listed for prior to being donated to the American Cancer Society. It is currently the highest priced home available for sale in Montgomery County.
