Leadership Montgomery Celebrates Class of 2024 Graduation

Leadership Montgomery (LM), a Montgomery County-based nonprofit that connects leaders in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, recently celebrated the completion of its 2024 Emerging Leaders (EL), Connecting Our Region’s Execs (CORE), and Encore programs. This year’s leadership program graduates and guests attended a special ceremony at the AFI Sliver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring.

“LM is thrilled to convene such a strong cross-section of individuals dedicated to creating change through their leadership,” said Dana Pauley, president, and CEO of Leadership Montgomery. “Today signifies the culmination of new connections, information, and commitment to the community where our graduates live and work. We are excited to continue to support their leadership as they work to create positive and meaningful impact in Montgomery County and beyond.”
Hamza Khan, a graduate of this year’s Leadership Montgomery program said the following, “Montgomery County is facing a perfect storm of crises that our next generation of leaders need to be prepared to solve through teamwork and creative policy solutions. Leadership Montgomery gave us hands-on-training and community-oriented education that my 2024 classmates and I need to help lead and build back MoCo. Our cohort is a dreamteam of diverse and talented emerging leaders, and we have every right to be hopeful for our county’s future.”
CORE, the organization’s flagship program, is geared toward seasoned leaders looking to enhance their leadership, while the EL program is for rising leaders who demonstrate commitment to their community and are looking for additional leadership development. The Encore program helps leaders transitioning from full-time work find their post-professional leadership purpose.
Beginning last September, the cohorts attended monthly sessions to broaden their knowledge of the county, deepen their connections, and prepare them to build thriving and inclusive communities in Montgomery County and beyond. The sessions included topics such as the history of Montgomery County, its economic and diverse landscape, and the resources available to help leaders succeed.
