
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9pm on Thursday, per the National Weather Service (NWS). The watch encompasses much of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Per the NWS, “Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 9 PM from generally U.S. 15 eastward to the Chesapeake Bay. The main threats with these storms will be damaging wind gusts, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.”
Earlier today a Tornado Warning was issued for parts of Frederick and Montgomery counties in Maryland, just a day after tornados caused damage in the area.
