Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the report of a fire on the 16000blk of Crabbs Branch Way in Derwood on Thursday, July 4.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the building. The fire was caused by a fan motor in a bathroom that caught fire, spreading into the attic.
Forty occupants, including staff were evacuated and temporarily displaced. There were no injuries reported.
