Montgomery Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the Montgomery County Shady Grove Transfer Station at 16101 Frederick Rd Road in Derwood on Wednesday, July 17, for the report of a fire.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, a large, deep-seated trash fire occurred inside the building in the pit area. The building was evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
