The following is a brief summary of events, per Montgomery County Police, regarding a fatal crash that occurred Saturday, July 20, on North Frederick Avenue near Travis Avenue:
“At approximately 10:12 p.m., Gaithersburg Police officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision involving a Ram pick-up truck and a Nissan Altima.
The operator of the Nissan, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. An occupant in the Nissan and the driver of the Ram were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call (240) 773-6620. A formal news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.”
