Driver Flees Scene After Traffic Stop; Handgun Recovered From Vehicle

On Saturday, the official Twitter/X account of the Montgomery County Police 2nd District-Bethesda announced that a suspect was apprehended and a handgun was recovered following a traffic stop in Bethesda.

The tweet stated, “Early this morning while most of us were sleeping, Ofc. Harvey observed a traffic violation in downtown Bethesda. The driver of the car immediately fled on foot. He was apprehended and a vehicle search revealed a 9mm handgun. The driver is a prohibited person who was driving on a suspended license; he was arrested and charged accordingly. Great work by Ofc. Harvey and the midnight team!”
