Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the Lockwood Apartments in the 11400blk of Lockwood Dr in Silver Spring (White Oak) at approximately 5:55am on Thursday morning for the report of a fire.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, approximately 75 firefighters responded to a fire in an occupied three-story apartment building. The fire, located on the first floor, was extinguished, and numerous occupants were assisted out of the building.
Update – Lockwood Dr, fire is out, a smoke alarm alerted a resident of the fire (in an adjacent apt), & called 911, several resident were evaluated, but not injured, one firefighter has been transported NLTI (medical), fire originated on first floor and is under investigation pic.twitter.com/kawHJjnayu
