For four decades, Bobby Hatfield (1940-2003) and Bill Medley, known as The Righteous Brothers, have enchanted audiences with soulful hits like “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” and “Unchained Melody” (featured in the movie Ghost). Medley will return with Bucky Heard to perform for the last time in the DMV on August 15th at Strathmore in North Bethesda.
Following Hatfield’s passing in 2003, Medley pursued a solo career before teaming up with acclaimed vocalist Bucky Heard to revive The Righteous Brothers’ iconic repertoire. Their Lovin’ Feelin’ Farewell Tour offers a nostalgic journey through 6 decades of timeless hits, spanning the early days of rock ‘n’ roll, the Blue-Eyed Soul era, and the group’s movie soundtrack successes.
Medley’s 1987 duet with Jennifer Warnes, “The Time of My Life”, reached #1 on the Billboard charts and will also be performed at the show. Medley’s solo career contained other notable songs like “Most of All You”, the closing theme to the movie Major League; “Friday Night’s a Great Night for Football” from the movie The Last Boy Scout; and the theme song for the Growing Pains spinoff Just the Ten of Us.
Tickets are going for $28-$88 on the Strathmore website.
