Raising Cane’s To Open College Park Location

Raising Cane’s started its expansion into the D.C. metropolitan region when its first area restaurant in December 2022 in Sterling, VA (45545 Dulles Eastern Plaza). The first Maryland location opened in Towson in January 2023 and both stores featured lines out the door for months on several days of the week. Additional locations have opened across the state and now a College Park, MD location has been announced the corner of Route 1 and Knox Road.

According to a report from The Diamondback, Raising Cane’s will be taking the place of the recently closed Nando’s Peri-Peri location in College Park. “The restaurant aims to open in August or September of 2025, according to a Raising Cane’s representative.”

We previously reported that Raising Cane’s 15+ locations for Maryland alone. Many of the remaining  Maryland locations have not been announced yet, and we are awaiting word on if Montgomery County will be included in the openings. For now, College Park will be one of the closest to the county.

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 in Baton Rouge, La., Raising Cane’s has more than 460 restaurants in 27 states, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with multiple new restaurants under construction. The international expansion began in 2015. The menu is simple and focuses on chicken finger combos , chicken finger sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, sweet/iced tea, and Cane’s sauce.
