District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos shared information regarding a Silver Spring resident’s concern for their grandmother after she left in morning for her doctor’s appointment and wasn’t back when it started getting dark in the evening hours.
“Now It is getting dark, no one knows where she is, and the family reports that grandma has trouble seeing at night. Worried isn’t even a strong enough word”, Cokinos wrote. The incident occurred on Wednesday.
According to Cokinos, “3rd District officers responded from all over the district, and in coordination with detectives and our Managed Search Operations Team (MSOT), they conducted a multi hour search and investigation using all available technology. We are happy to report that officers found grandma and safely reconnected her with her family.”
As with most missing person searches in the county, additional details surrounding the situation aren’t released when the person is found safe and unharmed.
